Bristol in 2035

This blog was set up by The Bristol Press to foster a community discussion of what the city might be like in 25 years. We hope that those who are interested will weigh in with their ideas and comments.
We're also looking for thoughts about what it will be like in the neighboring towns of Plymouth, Plainville and Southington.
We'll allow anonymous comments to posts on this site, but if you want your thoughts posted as a separate entry, you need to provide your name. If you want to provide identifying information about yourself as well, that would be great (i.e., "Steve Collins, a Bristol Press reporter since 1994").
If you followed a link to this post and want to see more, click on the Bristol 2035 logo at the top of the page to see the entire site.

  2. Bristol wont be here in 2035. None of us will. The world is supposed to come to an end in December 2012.

  3. I moved out of Bristol over ten years ago, because it is a terrible place to live. The best way I can describe Bristol in 20 years…take a look at the Bristol Press for the past ten years….failing school due to a school board full of worthless hags....city government with the same fifteen or twenty people running things and doing a terrible job. Take all that and imagine it is 2035—that is how it will be in twenty years. Oh yah, and the center mall will still be an empty lot. My message to Bristol residents—MOVE—there are plenty of places around the US that are great to live.

  4. a very bland and generic town. its glory days over from the manufacturers that once chucked fumes into the towns air.route six is a hodgepodge of mediocre stores and fast food restaurants. the downtown area raped of character with a 60s looking city hall, fire department and courts.it could be called the aluminum siding capital of the world. the once proud congregational church in Bristol was stripped of its wood and replaced with aluminum siding.Bristol is a horrific black hole of emptiness.in 30 years i have not seen any vast improvements except for ESPN bravely taking on a defunct town.
